Strudel with apples and chopped walnut kernels

The strudel is one of the desserts that we like a lot because it is made easy, fast, without any effort and is available to anyone. This time I made a strudel with apples and chopped walnut kernels, over which I threw a fine “rain” of powdered sugar.

Both chopped walnut kernels and vanilla-flavored powdered sugar are part of the Maestro range and can be used in various recipes, which are more and more delicious. The appetite determined us to use both in a strudel recipe, in which we put sweet and juicy apples, which made a good team with slightly crispy puff pastry.

Such an strudel can be served on any special occasion, as a dessert, as a snack or even for breakfast with a coffee or tea. Moreover, it can be packaged and taken to work or on short trips by car.

The scent of apples and cinnamon spread throughout the house during baking and we could not wait to serve it, because it conquered us instantly. If you like apple desserts, don’t hesitate to try this fragrant strudel!

Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry of 400 gr.
3 medium apples
50 gr. chopped walnut kernel Orlando’s Maestro
1 tablespoon vanilla-flavored Orlando’s Maestro powdered sugar
5 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon Orlando’s cinnamon
2 tablespoons Orlando’s rum essence
1 egg

Preparation

We hope you like the recipe and prepare it soon!

Put the cleaned and sliced apples in a bowl, not very thick, but not too thin. In the same bowl add the chopped walnut kernels, cinnamon, rum essence, brown sugar and mix them all.

After the puff pastry has thawed, place it in a tray covered with a baking sheet. Add the apple composition with the rest of the ingredients in the middle of the puff pastry.

Cut the puff pastry on both sides into strips and try to make the same number of strips on both sides. First gather the top and bottom ends over the apple composition, then gather each side strip over one another as if in a braid. Alternate one strip on the right with one on the left.

Beat the egg in a bowl, then grease the puff pastry braided with a beaten egg with a brush.

Sprinkle a little brown sugar on top of the puff pastry, then put the tray in the preheated oven at 180 ° C, for 30-35 minutes, until you see that it has browned nicely on top.

Leave to cool for 25-30 minutes, add powdered sugar on top, then cut into suitable pieces and serve with pleasure.

You’re welcome!
